Romani Short Dress - Church
Off-the shoulder short dress from duchesse fabric, with mid-long sleeves and cotton lining. The unique patterns of the dress are from the Church print of the “Körforgásban- in circulation: Romani Design” exhibition, with archive photos of the designers’ family members.
Körforgásban / In Circulation: Romani Design was a temporary exhibition series held at the György Ráth Villa by the Museum of Applied Arts. The designers selected six artworks from the museum's collection—specifically, devotional images depicting the Virgin Mary or female saints—and used them as inspiration to create six women's outfits featuring exquisitely rich patterns, along with matching accessories.
Material composition: duchesse.

Romani Design, Hungary's first Roma fashion studio, opened its doors in 2010 with a social mission: to promote the social integration of Roma communities through high-quality, handcrafted design products in the fields of fashion and applied arts.
Romani Design is also the first internationally successful fashion brand to consciously represent Roma culture and its connection to Hungarian culture. The brand reinterprets traditional Roma costume and its rich ornamental heritage within a contemporary design context.
As one of the leading figures in the Hungarian fashion and design scene, we place great emphasis on social responsibility. Through the work of the brand, the heritage of traditional Roma costume becomes more widely known and accessible as an integral part of the folk costume culture of Hungary and the Carpathian Basin.
The collections created by Erika Varga and Helena Varga, the designers of Romani Design, express the values of tradition while speaking the language of contemporary fashion.
